In 2010, after forty-five years dedicated to perfume, Puig awarded him the title of Master Perfumer. In 2015, he founded the house that bears his name in Barcelona with his son Joan. Regarding N°7, the house says exactly this: \"the culmination of the expertise of a Master Perfumer, the innovative approach of his son, and the meticulous selection of the best raw materials\". It is the only creation in the collection that it presents as a joint effort.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eAn opening of rose petals\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eA single material, and deliberately for a short time. \u003cstrong\u003eRose petals\u003c\/strong\u003e open the perfume on a delicate floral note which, the house says, \"passes seamlessly into the heart of the perfume\". It initially seems classic, and that is exactly what makes what follows interesting.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eA heart of jasmine, spices, animalic notes and Indonesian patchouli\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJasmine\u003c\/strong\u003e takes center stage, surrounded by \u003cstrong\u003espices\u003c\/strong\u003e and what the house calls \"intriguing animalic undertones\". Then \u003cstrong\u003eIndonesian patchouli\u003c\/strong\u003e asserts itself: earthy, camphoraceous, damp. The composition changes temperature without ever breaking.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eA base of Lao oud, Thai oud, Madagascar vanilla absolute and Siamese benzoin\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwo \u003cstrong\u003eouds\u003c\/strong\u003e overlap, one from Laos, the other from Thailand — dark, leathery, almost medicinal. The \u003cstrong\u003eMadagascar vanilla absolute\u003c\/strong\u003e rounds them off without extinguishing them, the \u003cstrong\u003eSiamese benzoin\u003c\/strong\u003e brings its balsamic resin. The sillage is rich, tenacious, and can be heard from afar.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe house's touch\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003ePatchouli is treated here as a rare material, and the house details the process: the leaves are \"dried, fermented then distilled\" in the Indonesian fields, before a \u003cstrong\u003emolecular distillation\u003c\/strong\u003e that removes its heaviest facets.
