Parfumeur | Nathalie Koobus
102 Chaï Mimosa by Bon Parfumeur is a niche floral, spicy, and powdery eau de parfum, unisex, created by perfumer Nathalie Koobus. This fragrance was previously called 102 Cardamom - Tea - Mimosa.
A house where the number indicates the olfactory family
Bon Parfumeur is a Parisian house founded in 2017 by Ludovic Bonneton, a passionate collector who became artistic director. The project was born from two things: his return from Colombia, where he lived surrounded by the scents of cocoa, coffee, and tropical flowers, and his meeting with the great perfumer Raymond Chaillan, who showed him that perfume could be described through the five senses rather than through words. Its distinctive feature is its numbering system, which is far from arbitrary: the first digit indicates the olfactory family, while the following two indicate the fragrance's position within that family. The creations are designed from the outset to be mixed and layered — the Mix & Match principle. Each fragrance is entrusted to a different perfumer and is born from a precise image brought to the studio by Bonneton. Everything is made in France.
An opening of bergamot, cardamom, and coriander
Bergamot opens with a sparkling, floral note — the very scent of Earl Grey tea. Cardamom brings a spicy freshness that evokes Indian tea, while coriander adds an aromatic greenness with orange undertones.
A heart of jasmine, tea, and mimosa
Jasmine unfolds its fruity white flowers, tea its floral, watery freshness, and mimosa arrives: floral, powdery, luminous. It is the heart of the matter and the most radiant moment of the fragrance.
A base of oakmoss, musk, and violet leaves
Oakmoss brings wood and the forest floor, while musk adds a soft, comforting, cottony sweetness. The violet leaves — green, damp, with a facet reminiscent of cucumber — keep the trail fresh until the very end.
The house's signature
A Chinese marriage between tea and flowers. Ludovic Bonneton provides the starting point: "I wanted a fragrance that reflected my beloved city in China and its way of life: Suzhou." The perfumer, Nathalie Koobus, explains the brief she received: "Ludovic told us about the marriage of tea and flowers to which he had been invited in Suzhou." The entire composition stems from this image: bergamot and cardamom are not there for their own sake, but because they evoke two teas — Earl Grey and Indian tea — before actual tea arrives in the heart. And the end holds a surprise: the fragrance does not close with sweetness, but with violet leaves, a green, damp note that keeps the garden open. Suzhou is precisely famous for its gardens.
For whom, and for what occasions?
Floral, spicy, and powdery, this eau de parfum is for those who love fresh florals and tea notes, far from sweet bouquets. It gives its best from spring to summer, during the day, and is equally well suited for both women and men.
With 102 Chaï Mimosa Bon Parfumeur, Nathalie Koobus captures the gardens of Suzhou under a sky in bloom.
