Parfumeur | Corinne Cachen
104 Terra Hedera by Bon Parfumeur is a green, aromatic, woody unisex perfume extract, created by perfumer Corinne Cachen. This fragrance was previously called 104 Orange Verte - Jacinthe - Lierre.
A house where the number indicates the fragrance family
Bon Parfumeur is a Parisian house founded in 2017 by Ludovic Bonneton, a passionate collector who became artistic director. The project was born from two things: his return from Colombia, where he lived surrounded by the scents of cocoa, coffee, and tropical flowers, and his meeting with the great perfumer Raymond Chaillan, who showed him that perfume could be described through the five senses rather than through words. Its distinctive feature is its numbering system, which is far from arbitrary: the first digit indicates the fragrance family, while the following two indicate the fragrance's position within that family. The creations are designed from the outset to be mixed and layered—the Mix & Match principle. Each fragrance is entrusted to a different perfumer and is born from a precise image brought to the studio by Bonneton. Everything is made in France. The extracts are distinguished by their gold cap.
An opening of galbanum, lentisk, bitter orange, and cardamom
Galbanum opens green, crisp, and bitter—the sharpest green material in perfumery. Moroccan lentisk adds its resin, bitter orange its zest, and Indian cardamom its spicy freshness.
A heart of hyacinth, jasmine, aquatic accord, and incense
Hyacinth arrives both creamy and green, entwined with jasmine. The aquatic accord brings the open air, while Somali incense adds a subtle smoke. Turned earth and crushed flowers, together.
A base of patchouli, amber, and vetiver
Indonesian patchouli brings damp earth, vetiver its dry root, and amber a warmth that softens. The trail remains green and grounded, never truly softening.
The house's signature
A fragrance built around a color, not a material. The perfumer is explicit: "Ludovic wanted to work around a color: green evoked freedom and was our guiding thread throughout the composition." And Bonneton provides the starting image: "I wanted to capture in a bottle the memory of a movement of freedom, a gallop that clings to my skin."—a gallop across the Mongolian steppe, where the ground churned by hooves releases the scent of earth and flowers. A detail that few notice: the ivy mentioned in the name does not appear anywhere in the fragrance pyramid. Hedera is the Latin name for ivy—but there is no ivy extract in perfumery. Here, it is recreated through galbanum and hyacinth. The name refers to a scent that had to be invented.
For whom, and for what occasions?
Green, aromatic, and woody, this perfume extract is for those who love bold, earthy greens, far from sweet florals. It can be worn all year round, during the day, by both women and men.
With 104 Terra Hedera Bon Parfumeur, Corinne Cachen captures a gallop across the Mongolian steppe in a bottle.
