Parfumeur | Serge de Oliveira
107 Nappa Tuberosa by Bon Parfumeur is a niche floral, leathery, and woody perfume extract, unisex, created by perfumer Serge de Oliveira. Tuberose under a suede bell jar.
A house where the number indicates the fragrance family
Bon Parfumeur is a Parisian house founded in 2017 by Ludovic Bonneton, a passionate collector who became artistic director. The project was born from two things: his return from Colombia, where he lived surrounded by the scents of cocoa, coffee, and tropical flowers, and his meeting with the great perfumer Raymond Chaillan, who showed him that perfume could be described through the five senses rather than through words. Its distinctive feature is its numbering system, which is far from arbitrary: the first digit indicates the fragrance family, while the following two indicate the fragrance's rank within that family. The creations are designed from the outset to be mixed and layered — the Mix & Match principle. Each fragrance is entrusted to a different perfumer and is born from a precise image brought to the studio by Bonneton. Everything is made in France. The extracts are recognizable by their gold cap.
An opening of saffron and bergamot
The saffron opens warm, spicy, and slightly fruity, with a leathery facet that already hints at the base. The bergamot brightens it with a lively zest. Only two ingredients: the opening gets straight to the point.
A heart of tuberose and ylang-ylang
The tuberose explodes, creamy, fleshy, and frankly narcotic — it is the most opulent flower in perfumery. The ylang-ylang adds its rich, sun-drenched side. A heart of two flowers, with nothing to hold them back.
A base of suede, papyrus, cashmere wood, and patchouli
The suede comes to envelop the flower like a protective nest, with its soft leather effect. The papyrus brings dry wood, the cashmere wood velvet, and the patchouli earthiness. The trail is expansive and very long-lasting — the extract is 69% pure.
The house's signature
Grasse was a city of tanners before it was a city of perfumers. This is the entire subject of this fragrance, and its name says it all: Nappa refers to soft leather, Tuberosa to the flower. The two historic trades of Grasse — leatherworking and flowers — united in a single bottle. Ludovic Bonneton explains its origin: "The enfleurage of tuberose and leather came to mind as a memory of summer holidays in Grasse." And the perfumer explains the intention: "Ludovic's inspiration spoke to me immediately: the tribute is paid by the narcotic tuberose, a symbol of the Grasse sunset, enveloped in a suede cocoon." A trade detail: the enfleurage mentioned by Bonneton is the ancestral Grasse technique of capturing the fragrance of delicate flowers in a fat medium — tuberose is the prime example.
For whom, and for what occasions?
Floral, leathery, and woody, this perfume extract is for those who love powerful white flowers and soft leathers. It gives its best from autumn to winter, in the evening, and is worn equally well by women and men.
With 107 Nappa Tuberosa Bon Parfumeur, Serge de Oliveira pays tribute to the heritage of Grasse.
