Parfumeur | Véronique Stambouli
3 Poivres by UNIKA is a spicy woody chypre eau de parfum, unisex, composed by Véronique Stambouli. The house describes it as a vibrant hesperidic: Sichuan pepper is a berry from the citrus family, not a pepper.
A perfumer who is also the founder
Véronique Stambouli was trained at the ISIPCA before settling in Grasse, where she trained under master perfumers. After composing for clients from around the world, she created UNIKA to compose freely. It is a rare case: the nose and the founder are the same person.
An opening of three peppers
The opening combines sweet pink pepper, a black pepper — which the house specifies comes from Madagascar — and a Sichuan pepper, woody and lemony, close to grapefruit. It is bright, warm, and tickles the nose.
A heart of cedar and patchouli
The heart contains only two materials: a dry Virginia cedar and an earthy patchouli. They give the peppers a base that prevents them from evaporating.
A base of oakmoss
The base holds up with two materials: an oakmoss, damp and green, and musks. It is the moss that tips the composition towards the chypre side, and gives it its longevity.
The house's approach
UNIKA defines itself as an ode to understated elegance: few materials, but carefully chosen, and quality over quantity. The perfumes are created and made in France, in Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, on the outskirts of Grasse. Each fragrance is available in 30 and 100 ml.
For whom, for what occasions?
3 Poivres is for those who love bright spicy scents and perfumes that awaken the senses. A unisex eau de parfum for all seasons, for daytime, including the office.
