Abraj by Spirit of Dubai is an oriental aromatic chypre eau de parfum, unisex, created by Asghar Adam Ali. The house describes it as strong and powerful like the steel and concrete that build Dubai's skyline — abraj means the towers.

The first generation, the Niche Collection

Abraj is one of the eight fragrances from the first generation, the one the house calls its Niche Collection: each embodies a remarkable aspect of Dubai, from the sea to the dunes and from heritage to the skyline. It is the founding line of 2015.

An opening of black pepper, saffron, cardamom, Damask rose, bergamot, shinus molle, pine, petitgrain and lavender

The opening is spicy before becoming fresh: black pepper, leathery saffron, cardamom, then shinus molle — the pink pepper tree —, pine, petitgrain and lavender. Damask rose is already present.

A heart of red rose, thyme, cypress, leather, cedar, geranium, jasmine and violet

The heart contrasts the flowers — red rose, geranium, jasmine, violet — with raw materials: dry thyme, resinous cypress, cedar and leather. This is the transition that gives the fragrance its strength.

A base of cypriol, oud, oakmoss, patchouli, tree moss, sandalwood, amber, benzoin, vanilla and musk

The base is a complete chypre structure: two mosses, earthy and smoky cypriol, patchouli, oud, sandalwood, amber, benzoin, vanilla and musk. The trail becomes dark and very long-lasting.

The house's signature

Asghar Adam Ali is the master perfumer and honorary president of the house. Born in 1953 in Aden, coming from a family of perfume merchants, he founded Nabeel Perfumes at sixteen and settled in the Emirates in 1990. His motto: be bold, be first, be different.
