Accident à la Vanille by Jousset Parfums is a vanilla, gourmand, and woody extrait de parfum, unisex, created by Jimmy Bodin. The house's founding creation.

His mother's name, and two to three months of maceration

Jousset Parfums was founded in 2020 by Jimmy Bodin, a self-taught French perfumer, and Melis Bodin. It all began in Switzerland, in a small room, with bottles filled by syringe: Jimmy was recreating the French desserts he couldn't find there. Jousset is his mother's name, from whom he inherited his passion for perfumes; his love of craftsmanship comes from his father. Production now takes place in France, in the house's independent workshop. Its signature is registered: Ultra-Gourmand™ — concentrations of 28.5 to 33.5%, and two to three months of maceration, compared to about three weeks in the industry.

A vanilla opening

Vanilla opens alone, without citrus or spice to introduce it. It arrives just like that, rich and sweet, with the density of an extract rather than the lightness of a top note.

A heart of vanilla and sandalwood

Vanilla remains at the heart, joined by sandalwood. The wood brings its milky creaminess: it does not contradict the vanilla, it thickens it.

A base of vanilla and storax

Vanilla still holds the base, where storax joins it. This balsamic resin, slightly smoky and leathery, brings the shadow that prevents the composition from remaining purely sweet.

The house's signature touch

Three layers of vanilla, one per stage: the material never passes the baton. A classic perfume evolves its materials; this one evolves a single material by changing what surrounds it. Sandalwood and then storax are not successors but two lights placed on the same vanilla. Jimmy Bodin himself describes his Ultra-Gourmand™ as very close to oud perfumes — same structure, same intensity, translated by indulgence instead of darkness. This bottle is the most direct demonstration of it.
