Parfumeur | Jimmy Bodin
Accident à la Vanille Madeleine de Proust by Jousset Parfums is a vanilla, gourmand and fruity perfume extract, unisex, created by Jimmy Bodin. The pastry edition of the founding fragrance.
His mother's name, and two to three months of maceration
Jousset Parfums was founded in 2020 by Jimmy Bodin, a self-taught French perfumer, and Melis Bodin. It all began in Switzerland, in a small room, with bottles filled using a syringe: Jimmy was recreating the French desserts he couldn't find there. Jousset is his mother's name, from whom he inherited his passion for perfumes; his love of craftsmanship comes from his father. Today, production takes place in France, in the house's independent workshop. Its signature is registered: Ultra-Gourmand™ — concentrations of 28.5 to 33.5%, and two to three months of maceration, compared to about three weeks in the industry.
An opening of peach and apricot
Peach and apricot open with two stone fruits, velvety and slightly milky. It is a start from a fruit compote rather than an orchard: the fruits are already cooked, already sweetened.
A heart of coconut
Coconut occupies the heart alone. It brings the richness and milkiness that bridge the opening fruit and the pastry base, without ever tipping towards a sunny monoi.
A base of vanilla, butter and biscuit
Vanilla carries the house's signature, butter brings the fat, biscuit the baked cereal. Three materials that are not perfume notes but recipe ingredients.
The house's approach
Butter and biscuit are named as such, as in a recipe. Where classic perfumery would speak of a milky note or a cereal facet, the formula designates ingredients — and that is exactly what Ultra-Gourmand™ claims, which uses complex molecules to recreate the real depth of pastries. The name completes the program: Proust's madeleine is the memory triggered by the smell of pastry.
For whom, for what occasions?
Vanilla, gourmand and fruity, this extract is for those who love pastry vanillas and stone fruits, and prefer a dressed vanilla to a naked vanilla. From autumn to winter, in the evening. It is the sweetest of the founder's editions.
With Accident à la Vanille Madeleine de Proust Jousset Parfums, the formula designates ingredients rather than notes.
