Kajal Perfumes Paris was founded in 2012 by Moe Khalaf and Ibrahim Faris, and its first fragrance was released in 2014. Both come from the world of luxury: Ibrahim Faris started at nineteen in Jordan before becoming brand manager for the Al Tayer Group in Dubai; Moe Khalaf spent ten years at YSL Beauté, eventually heading the Saudi market, and later served as Middle East Regional Director at Estée Lauder. The name says it all: kajal refers to kohl in Indian culture and comes from the Arabic word khajal, meaning modesty. The house is based in Dubai, but its fragrances are primarily composed in France.
