Parfumeur | Théo Belmas
Anatolia by Alfred Ritchy is a fruity, gourmand, and vanilla-scented niche eau de parfum, unisex, created by perfumer Théo Belmas. Its location: Cappadocia, Turkey. Its time: 05:30.
A house where each fragrance is a place and a time
Alfred Ritchy is a French niche house founded in 2020, whose founders claim over forty years of experience and who create their fragrances using raw materials from the French market. Its principle is simple and strictly followed: each fragrance is a specific place, captured at a specific time. Alfred Ritchy himself is a character invented by the house — an imaginary traveler who notes in his notebook the exact moment when a place captivated him, and it is that very minute that the fragrance recreates, not the postcard. The collection thus brings together Monaco at noon, Japan in the early morning, and New York at dusk. Each bottle bears its time.
An opening of mandarin, pear, and raspberry
The mandarin opens with a bright and sweet citrus note, immediately joined by the juicy and slightly green pear, and the more tart raspberry. The opening is luminous and fresh — it is the cold air of the early morning before the sun rises.
A heart of orange blossom, geranium, caramel, and incense
The orange blossom and geranium establish a sunny and slightly peppery floral. Then come the cooked and buttery caramel, and the resinous and smoky incense. This is the pivotal moment of the composition: the sugar and smoke hold together without one overpowering the other.
A base of vanilla, amber, sandalwood, and patchouli
The vanilla and amber extend the gourmand sweetness with a warm softness, while the creamy sandalwood and earthy patchouli give it its foundation. The sillage is enveloping and lasts well through the day.
The house's signature touch
05:30, dawn over Cappadocia. This is the exact time inscribed on the bottle: the time when dozens of hot air balloons rise into an orange sky, above the fairy chimneys and underground cities. The entire construction of the fragrance stems from that very minute: cold and bright fruits for the early morning air, then the incense placed in the heart, just beneath the caramel — an unusual choice, as incense is almost always relegated to the base. Here, it rises at the same time as the sugar, exactly as the smoke from the burners blends with the heat of the balloons.
For whom, for what occasions?
Fruity, gourmand, and vanilla-scented, this eau de parfum is for those who love gourmand fragrances with a touch of darkness, neither tame nor candied. It gives its best from autumn to winter, by day as well as in the evening, and is equally suitable for both women and men.
With Anatolia Alfred Ritchy, Théo Belmas captures a Turkish sunrise and the time it occurred in a bottle.
