Bacchus by Nysos is a spicy amber floral eau de parfum, unisex, created by Alex Lee. Its distinctive feature: spices appear right from the top note, alongside citrus.

A house that changes perfumer with each creation

Nysos is a Parisian house with an unusual compositional approach: it entrusts almost every creation to a different perfumer. Ten fragrances, eight noses — only Olivier Cresp and Benjamin Bélizon have created two each — and you will find signatures that you usually encounter at the great houses. Its eaux de parfum are presented in 80 ml, its extracts in 50 ml.

An opening of mandarin essence, saffron and cardamom

Five ingredients, three of them in essence. Mandarin essence, lemon essence and bergamot provide the citrus radiance, while saffron and cardamom essence immediately establish a spicy warmth. The citrus is not alone: the spice arrives with it.

A heart of jasmine absolute, freesia and rose

The heart is a white and clear bouquet. The jasmine absolute brings its indolic fleshiness, freesia its peppery and watery facet, muguet its green transparency, rose its depth. Four flowers, none dominates.

A base of patchouli essence and amber woods

The dry down is short and technical. Patchouli essence brings its earthiness, and three modern woody molecules take over: santamanol, which recreates the creaminess of sandalwood, orcanox and ambramone, two synthetic ambers with very long-lasting performance. The house does not hide this and names them in its pyramid.

The house's signature touch

Most florals start with citrus alone, and only introduce spices in the heart. Bacchus places saffron and cardamom right from the opening, at the same time as mandarin and lemon: the warmth is there immediately, and the white bouquet that follows settles on an already spicy background. The other singularity is the transparency of the formula: three essences, one absolute and three patented molecules, each named with its method of extraction, where the custom is to only list naturals.

For those who love spicy florals and are looking for a luminous fragrance without being light. It is a mid-season fragrance, wearable day or night, with very good longevity. Bacchus Nysos will appeal to those who want a flower warmed by saffron.
