A father, suitcases full of bottles

Jupilò is a Roman house founded by Lorenzo Zaccheo — lawyer, professional sommelier, and former boxer. His passion for perfume comes from his father, a lover of beauty and Paris, who returned from trips with suitcases full of bottles: Annick Goutal, Diptyque, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Caron. "And every time, it was Christmas." The child became a collector, then a student of the art of fragrance, and finally creative director. The house describes itself as a cross between Rome and Paris, using methods borrowed from oenology that are explained by his profession as a sommelier. Four perfumers created the collection: Vanina Muracciole, Arturetto Landi, Christian Carbonnel, and Luca Maffei.

An opening of mango, pineapple, and rhubarb

Mango, apple, and pineapple create a ripe, sweet fruitiness. Rhubarb adds green acidity, black pepper provides bite, and lime, grapefruit, and mandarin complete the blend with three distinct citrus fruits. Eight ingredients in the opening alone.

A heart of orchid, jasmine, and magnolia

Orchid, jasmine, rose, and magnolia form a full-bodied bouquet, which lavender dries out with an aromatic touch. The fragrance moves from fruit to flower without losing any of its brilliance.

A base of cypriol, patchouli, and leather

Cypriol brings its smoky Indian root character, while patchouli, cedar, and vetiver provide the woody structure. Leather, white musk, and ambergris close the fragrance on a warm, long-lasting base.

The house's signature

Eight ingredients in the opening, out of twenty in total: almost half the formula is revealed in the first few minutes. This is an unusual choice — openings are usually the shortest and simplest, as they evaporate quickly. Here, it becomes the fragrance's showpiece, with three distinct citrus fruits and four fruits following one another at intervals of just a few seconds. The name reflects this idea: the navy blazer is the uniform of Italian elegance, the one that looks simple but never is.
