Parfumeur | Ramón Béjar
Celestial Rose by Ramón Béjar is a powdery woody floral extrait de parfum, unisex, created by Ramón Béjar himself. It belongs to the My Universe Privée collection and is available in a limited and numbered edition.
Granada and Barcelona, a cultural symphony
Ramón Béjar is a Spanish house based in Barcelona, whose founder is also the nose. It presents itself as a philosophy rather than a brand: bringing together the most sophisticated essences and plants on the planet in limited and numbered edition fragrances. Its positioning can be summed up in one sentence — formed in the Arab-Andalusian heritage of Granada, nourished by the artistic spirit of Barcelona — and the house speaks of a cultural symphony, where Middle Eastern perfumery meets Western olfactory tastes. The catalog is divided into two collections: My Universe Privée, eight fragrances born from a childhood passion for the mystical, which range from the deserts of Arabia to the waters of North Africa, from the rose gardens of Barcelona to the jungles of Vietnam and Colombia; and My Colourful Symphony, four lighter and more dynamic compositions.
An opening of Bulgarian rose, bergamot and geranium
Bulgarian rose opens fresh and honeyed, bergamot brightens it with a bitter zest, and geranium brings that green and peppery facet that belongs to the rose leaf as much as to the flower.
A heart of musk, magnolia and violet
Musk rounds it out, magnolia adds a lemony white floral, and violet establishes the powdery. This heart is the sweetest moment of the perfume, the one where the rose breathes instead of imposing itself.
A base of Turkish rose, tuberose absolute, Mysore sandalwood and Texas cedar
Turkish rose returns, denser and more candied than the Bulgarian. Tuberose absolute charges it with a white floral, Mysore sandalwood brings its creaminess, and Texas cedar a woody dryness that prevents the whole from becoming sweet.
The house's gesture
The perfume comes from a precise memory, and the perfumer tells it himself: a public garden in Barcelona, in his childhood, planted with roses of all colors and all smells, where he would sit on a bench to intoxicate himself with their scent. So it is not a bouquet rose he composes, but a garden rose — he speaks of the petals, the green nuances of the leaves, and the smell of wet earth from which the thorny stems emerge, all under a spring sun. The formula follows: two roses from two terroirs, placed on two different levels, the Bulgarian to open, the Turkish to close.
For whom, for what occasions?
For those who love grand roses and are looking for a green and earthy rose rather than a candied one. It is an all-season fragrance, wearable from day to night, with a very long-lasting hold and a wide sillage — one spray is enough. Celestial Rose Ramón Béjar will go to those who want the entire rose garden, not just the flower.
