Chypre Azural by Les Indémodables is a chypre, hesperidic and floral eau de parfum, unisex, created by Florence Fouillet Dubois. A chypre without oakmoss, which is far from obvious.

A house that makes its own materials

Les Indémodables was born in 2016 from the meeting of Valérie and Rémi Pulvérail. She was a beauty retailer and wanted to offer her customers an olfactory wardrobe; he had spent twenty years sourcing ingredients at Givaudan before founding his own laboratory, L'Atelier Français des Matières. That is where it all happens: the house does not order its raw materials, it extracts them itself. Some of its extracts are exclusive and cannot be found anywhere else — therefore impossible to copy. Antoine Lie is the creative director, alongside Florence Fouillet Dubois. And it is rare: each bottle indicates the percentage of expensive naturals contained in the formula. The eaux de parfum are dosed at 20%, the Extraits Absolus at 40%.

An opening of Sicilian orange and tarragon

Sicilian orange opens with a sunny, full and sweet citrus. Tarragon arrives with it: anise-scented, green, almost spicy — a culinary ingredient that perfumery uses very little.

A heart of patchouli leaf and Egyptian rose

It is the Indonesian patchouli leaf that holds the heart, and not the root: greener, fresher, without the usual earthy heaviness. The Egyptian rose accompanies it, spicier and more honeyed than European roses.

An amber base
