A house that gives perfumers a voice

In perfumery, recognition goes to the scent, the brand or the bottle — almost never to the creator. Contes de Parfums reverses this principle: each perfume is a personal and precise memory of the perfumer's life, who works with complete freedom of expression, and their name is printed on the bottle. In the Cities collection, launched in 2022, each nose chose a city they had personally lived in — these are not tourist portraits but intimate memories. And the names gathered together speak to the seriousness of the project: Alberto Morillas, Anne Flipo, Carlos Benaïm, Ramon Monegal, Jean-Christophe Hérault, Nicolas Beaulieu, and also Caroline Dumur, who captured from Agra the splendor of the Taj Mahal and the gardens that surround it. 100 ml bottle.

An opening of ginger, cardamom and neroli

Ginger opens spicy and fresh, cardamom brings its camphorous spice, and neroli — distilled essence of bitter orange blossom — a green and honeyed clarity.

A heart of Indian tuberose, jasmine sambac and ylang-ylang

Indian tuberose brings its white and creamy flesh, jasmine sambac its green and tea-like facet, ylang-ylang its sunny nuances. Three great white flowers in full dose.

A base of vanilla, leather, cistus and cedar

Vanilla rounds out, leather brings a tanned edge, cistus its honeyed resin and cedar its dryness. The sillage is ample and long-lasting.

Three Indian white flowers, and none are interchangeable. Indian tuberose brings the flesh and creaminess, jasmine sambac — the variety picked in the evening, the greenest and most tea-like — the liveliness, ylang-ylang the richness and the sunniness. These are the three flowers that are grown and braided in India, and bringing them together is like composing a local bouquet rather than a generic white floral. The leather and cistus in the base prevent the whole from becoming sweet: the composition remains ample without ever turning into syrup.
