The House of Oud's Crazy Collection

Doux Ennui belongs to the Crazy Collection, the freest line from The House of Oud, an Italian house founded in 2016 by Andrea Casotti, a nuclear engineer from the Politecnico di Milano, and Mohammed Abu Nashi, an oud producer from Jakarta. The house drew inspiration from the figure of Marie Antoinette and her love of culinary pleasures, presenting this fragrance as "wearable indolence".

An opening of apricot jam

The opening brings together a mandarin, an apricot jam and an ylang-ylang. The cooked fruit, thick and golden, is brightened by the citrus and rounded by the flower.

A heart of peach and salted butter

The heart combines a peach, a salted butter and a second touch of ylang-ylang. The salt cuts through the sweetness and prevents the composition from becoming cloying.

A base of osmanthus and benzoin

The base brings together an osmanthus, a flower with apricot facets, a vanilla, a benzoin, an amber and a musk. Five ingredients that extend the fruit through the drydown.

The house's signature touch

Ylang-ylang is used twice, at the beginning and then in the heart: it is what links the opening jam to the butter in the heart. And the salted butter accord gives this gourmand a salty touch that distinguishes it from simply sweet vanillas.
