Escapade Gourmande Grand Cru by Maison Mataha is an absolute of gourmand amber vanilla perfume, unisex, created by Vincent Ricord. The house's founding creation, rewritten around two vanilla absolutes.

A couple, an obsession: the perfect vanilla

Maison Mataha was founded in 2020 by a Parisian couple, perfume lovers and collectors, "for whom longevity, sillage, and the quality of the juice are essential". It was born from a precise obsession, which the founders themselves describe: “Nothing could satisfy our quest for the perfect vanilla: an intense, dark vanilla, with the captivating aroma of crème brûlée. Disappointed by the existing range, we decided, as a couple, to create it ourselves.” It took one year of work, with the support of CPL Aromas and master perfumer Vincent Ricord. The juices are concentrated to 35% and contain no added coloring, French, vegan, and cruelty-free. The credo: "a perfume must be both nostalgic and addictive to awaken emotions — and it is through these emotions that memories are born". The house has seven creations: the founding one in 2020, five between 2024 and 2025, then its Grand Cru reinterpretation in 2026.

An opening of Cristal vanilla and Peru balsam

Where the original opened on sugar, this one opens directly on vanilla: a Cristal vanilla absolute, luminous, present from the start. The Peru balsam essence accompanies it with its balsamic and resinous warmth.

A heart of black sugar and tonka bean

The black sugar accord moves to the heart, with an intensely caramelized facet: it is the crème brûlée crust cracking under the spoon, the memory from which the house set out. The tonka bean absolute brings its almond-like roundness.

A base of Bourbon vanilla and musk

A second vanilla, the Bourbon vanilla absolute, holds the base, rounder and darker than the Cristal in the top. The musks extend the composition into a velvety and enveloping sillage.

The house's signature

Two vanilla absolutes, one at each end of the pyramid. The house was born from the quest for a perfect vanilla; with this Grand Cru, it places one in the top and another in the base, Cristal to open, Bourbon to last. The order of the original is reversed: the black sugar, which opened Escapade Gourmande, moves down to the heart. Same nose, same 35% concentration, same crème brûlée memory — it is the natural materials that change, and with them the richness and texture of the juice. The bottle retains the house's silhouette, dressed in gold. Six materials in total.
