Parfumeur | Michał Gilbert Lach
Eternal Lily Amber by Bohoboco is a niche floral, amber and vanilla eau de parfum, unisex, created by Michał Gilbert Lach. The material at the heart of the composition is lily.
A house that names its perfumes after their materials
Bohoboco is a Polish house based in Warsaw. It was born in 2009 as a fashion brand, founded by designers Michał Gilbert Lach and Kamil Owczarek. A first perfume appeared in 2012, before the collection was launched in 2016 — a project in which Lach, having worked in hairdressing, then makeup and later fashion design, says he found his true calling. The house's signature lies in its naming convention: each perfume simply bears the name of two or three of its materials, without a story or character. Sea Salt Caramel, Vanilla Black Pepper, Wild Carrot Oud — and even provocative names like Magic Mushrooms or Polish Potatoes. The first compositions were created in Grasse, and the house has been awarded by the Fragrance Foundation UK, Vogue Beauty and Elle Style. Everything is available as a 50 ml eau de parfum, unisex.
An opening of lily, Sicilian mandarin and Granny Smith apple
Lily asserts itself from the very first second, dignified and almost ethereal. Sicilian mandarin illuminates it with a sunny zest and Granny Smith apple adds its tart crunch. A vibrant start, both fruity and floral.
A heart of lily, Turkish rose and jasmine
Lily returns, this time surrounded: Turkish rose intoxicates it with honey and jasmine softens it with its white floral sweetness. It is a full, opulent bouquet, held together by the flower of the title.
A base of Indonesian patchouli, amber and Madagascar vanilla
Indonesian patchouli brings its earthy depth, amber its enveloping warmth and Madagascar vanilla its gourmand sweetness. The trail is expansive and lasts a very long time.
The house's approach
A funeral flower transformed into a symbol of abundance. Lily is the flower of funeral ceremonies — and that is precisely why Michał Gilbert Lach chose it: for him, it represents his farewell to his native Poland, and the perfume expresses what he calls the metaphysical will to bloom. The composition literally reflects this reversal: lily appears twice, first in the opening and then again in the heart — like a flower that returns after departure. Around it, mandarin represents happiness, apple vitality, and vanilla abundance.
For whom, and for what occasions?
Floral, amber and vanilla, this eau de parfum is for those who love grand white florals set on a warm base. It can be worn all year round, both day and evening, without distinction of gender.
With Eternal Lily Amber Bohoboco, Michał Gilbert Lach bottles his own farewell to Poland.
