A house born from poetry

Parfums Dusita is an award-winning independent Parisian haute parfumerie house, founded in 2016 by Pissara “Ploi” Umavijani, a self-taught perfumer born in Bangkok who arrived in Paris in 2011. Each fragrance is an olfactory tribute to the poetry of her father, Montri Umavijani (1941-2006), a renowned Thai poet. Dusita is the name of the celestial paradise spoken of in his verses, and its quest runs through the entire collection. Pissara draws an illustration for each creation herself, capturing its spirit as much as that of the poem. The juices are composed near Grasse from largely natural ingredients, and are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. 50 ml bottle.

An opening of magnolia and galbanum

Magnolia opens with a lemony, fleshy note, while galbanum—a green, bitter resin—immediately contradicts it. Only two ingredients, and the tension is set.

A heart of jasmine, May rose and ylang-ylang

Jasmine brings its creamy whiteness, May rose its honeyed freshness, and ylang-ylang its sunny facets. Three opulent flowers, none dominating.

A base of vanilla, sandalwood and ambrette seed

Vanilla rounds out the fragrance, sandalwood brings its milky creaminess, and ambrette seed—the only plant-based musk in perfumery—creates a skin-like effect.

The house's signature

A flower and a stem, face to face from the very first second. Magnolia is lemony and fleshy; galbanum is the greenest and bitterest resin in the palette. Placing them together in the opening, without transition, gives the bouquet a nervousness that three opulent flowers in the heart can never lull to sleep. This is what prevents this floral from being comfortable—and what makes it memorable. The base confirms the house's choice: ambrette seed, the only plant-based musk, where most white florals rely on synthetic musks.
