Floriage by Jupilò is a floral, fruity and aromatic unisex perfume extract. A bouquet with basil slipped in.
A father, suitcases full of bottles
Jupilò is a Roman house founded by Lorenzo Zaccheo — lawyer, professional sommelier and former boxer. His passion for perfumes comes from his father, a lover of beauty and Paris, who returned from trips with suitcases full of bottles: Annick Goutal, Diptyque, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Caron. “And every time, it was Christmas.” The child became a collector, then a student of olfactory art, then creative director. The house defines itself as a cross between Rome and Paris, with methods borrowed from oenology that his profession as a sommelier explains. Four perfumers sign the catalogue: Vanina Muracciole, Arturetto Landi, Christian Carbonnel and Luca Maffei.
An opening of three citrus fruits and basil
The mandarin, the lemon and the orange open in a hesperidic trio, each with its own peel. The basil arrives right next to them: anise-scented and peppery, it completely changes the reading of the citrus fruits.
A heart of rose, gardenia and peach
The rose and the jasmine establish the bouquet, the geranium its green facet. The gardenia — a creamy white flower with a slightly mushroomy note, one of the hardest to recreate — gives it its thickness, and the peach the velvety fruitiness.
A base of vetiver and tonka bean
The vetiver brings the dry earth, the patchouli the humus, the sandalwood its creaminess. The tonka bean rounds off the whole with a hay-scented almond without sweetening it.
The house's signature
Basil is placed next to the citrus fruits, not after them. It is a culinary herb, rarely invited into a floral, and its presence right from the opening prevents the perfume from becoming a flowery eau de cologne. The second difficult choice is the gardenia: the flower cannot be extracted, it must be recreated, and few houses of this size venture into it.
For whom, for what occasions?
Floral, fruity and aromatic, this extract is for those who love sunny florals and are looking for a bouquet that is neither sweet nor conventional. From spring to autumn, during the day. It is the sunniest in the catalogue.
With Floriage Jupilò, a culinary herb prevents a bouquet from becoming an eau de cologne.
