Tehani by Florian Pontier is a niche floral, spicy, and vanilla perfume extract, unisex. A tropical fragrance that refuses to be saccharine: white flowers are held by green bitterness and iodine.
A house born in bottles
Florian Pontier grew up in a French family involved in perfume making. As a child, he already assembled bottles and caps to create unique pieces — a game that became a vision: to make the perfume object an artistic creation. The house was launched in February 2025 at Esxence, in Milan, with the FLO'W collection and its seven fragrances, whose bottles have a flame shape — and which he designs himself, which is rare in perfumery. The manifesto can be summed up in one sentence: “with a touch of humor and humility, we break conventions”, placing eccentricity and espèglerie at the heart of creation. Tehani is a Polynesian name.
An opening of marigold and cardamom
Marigold oil opens the composition — it is the marigold, a yellow flower whose oil is green, herbaceous, and frankly bitter, the opposite of the expected solar. Cardamom oil accompanies it with its camphor freshness, and the coconut accord only then sets the tropical scene — after the bitterness, never before.
A heart of tuberose and marine accord
Tuberose oil unfolds its white, fleshy, and intoxicating flower. Facing it, a marine accord brings the iodine and salt that replace conventional monoï. Madagascar cinnamon oil links them with a spicy warmth, dry rather than sweet.
A base of Bourbon vanilla and sandalwood
Madagascar Bourbon vanilla absolute establishes the final sweetness, prolonged by tonka bean absolute and its almond and cut hay facet. Sandalwood holds the whole together: creamy, lactic, it makes the flowers last without weighing them down.
The house's signature
A marigold oil opening a tropical floral. Where the genre almost always opens on a citrus or a solar note, here it is a green bitterness that welcomes. The process is repeated in the heart, with a marine accord slipped against the tuberose. These two decisions make all the difference between one more monoï and a floral that keeps its relief. The materials are moreover named in oils and absolutes — marigold, cardamom, tuberose, cinnamon, vanilla, tonka bean — a way to announce the natural part of the formula.
For whom, for what occasions?
Floral, spicy, and vanilla, this extract is for those who love solar white flowers with relief, and are looking for a tropical that does not reduce to sunscreen. From spring to summer, in the evening as well as on a trip.
With Tehani Florian Pontier, a green bitterness opens a perfume of white flowers.
