A fake word that means fake
FUGAZZI is a Dutch house from Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Bram Niessink, whose imagination was sparked during a trip to Egypt with his grandfather. The name comes from fugazi, an Italian-American slang word from the 1970s meaning "fake", adopted by youth culture and movie mobsters: writing it with a double Z makes a fake word that means fake. The house calls its approach "Storysmelling" — perfume does not impose a story, it triggers the one of the wearer. Each formula also contains two patented odorless plant ingredients, whose combination aims to reduce feelings of nervousness and tension.
What the set contains
Six extracts, or 12 ml of perfume. The concentration of 30 to 50% perfume oil provides long-lasting wear: one bottle is enough to judge a composition over several days, which an ordinary sample does not allow.
Why start there
This house takes bold, uncompromising stances, and they are not guessed from the name. A perfume called Sugar Daddy is a chypre without an ounce of sugar; In Love With The Cocos uses coconut water and not milk; Goudh places oud in the top notes when all oriental fragrances put it at the base. With a brand whose name means "fake", you have to smell before judging.
For whom?
For those who want to discover an entire house rather than a single perfume, and to avoid committing to a full extract blindly. All the perfumes of the house are unisex.
