A house born from a neuropsychiatrist

Indices Parfums is one of the very few Belgian perfume brands, based in Brussels. It was born from the meeting of Olga, a doctor in neuropsychiatry and biochemist, and Hubert Alexandre, owner of the Parfum d'Ambre perfumery and co-creator of L'Écrin à Parfums. Olga specialized in the therapeutic use of perfumes — she notably led Le parfum des anges, a project intended to ease the daily lives of sick children and their families. Each creation is therefore built around a precise emotional effect. The house works collection by collection, with perfumers from different backgrounds, and donates one euro back for every perfume sold to the NGO Initiative Développement, which supports small ylang-ylang producers in the Comoros.

A caramel opening

Caramel opens the composition alone, cooked and buttery. No citrus, no spices: the perfume enters directly into its gourmand register.

A heart of vanilla and tonka bean

Vanilla settles in the center, full and woody. The tonka bean doubles it with almond and cut hay — two close materials, whose layering gives the heart its thickness.

A base of cedar and sandalwood

Cedarwood brings its pencil-like dryness, sandalwood its lactic creaminess. The two woods prevent the vanilla from remaining a dessert and give it a foundation.

The house's signature

Neriko is a process, not a material. It is a form of Japanese incense in which ingredients — resins, woods, spices, honey — are kneaded together and then aged, sometimes for several years, before being burned. The title therefore announces a method: a vanilla treated like incense, matured and melted rather than placed on woods.
