A house founded by a neuropsychiatrist

Indices Parfums is one of the very few Belgian perfume brands, based in Brussels. It was born from the meeting of Olga, a doctor in neuropsychiatry and biochemist, and Hubert Alexandre, owner of the Parfum d'Ambre perfumery and co-creator of L'Écrin à Parfums. Olga specialized in the therapeutic use of perfumes — she notably led Le parfum des anges, a project intended to ease the daily lives of sick children and their families. Each creation is therefore built around a precise emotional effect. The house works collection by collection, with perfumers from different backgrounds, and donates one euro per perfume sold to the NGO Initiative Développement, which supports small ylang-ylang producers in the Comoros.

An opening of yuzu and kaffir lime

The yuzu opens on a Japanese citrus that is both tart and floral. The kaffir lime, here its fruit, brings a green bitterness and a very recognizable peel, rougher than that of a lime.

A heart of kaffir lime leaf and pistachio

The kaffir lime leaf takes over: it is a different scent from the fruit, more herbal and slightly lemongrass-like. The pistachio adds a fatty and slightly salty note, unexpected in a citrus fragrance.

An incense base

The incense closes the composition alone. Its resinous smoke gives the perfume a depth that the citrus family almost never has, and this is what allows it to last.

The house's signature

The leaf and fruit of the kaffir lime do not smell the same. That is the whole point: most perfumes that use this plant only retain one of the two materials. Here, the fruit occupies the top and the leaf the heart, which gives the perfume a progression built from a single plant.
