Jouri Perfumes is an Emirati house, whose first reference dates back to 2017. Its particularity lies in a rare fact: Ali Abdulla Almarzooqi is not only the founder, he is the nose of all the creations. Where most houses commission their formulas from outside perfumers, every Jouri bottle bears the hand of a single person.

An opening of saffron, cinnamon, and rhubarb

Seven materials open together. The saffron gives its leathery and slightly metallic facet, the cinnamon and the coriander the warmth, the black pepper and the pink pepper the bite. The strawberry and the rhubarb bring the red acidity that prevents this start from being only dry.

A heart of jasmine

The jasmine occupies the heart alone. After the clutter of spices, the flower arrives like a clearing: indolic, a little animalic, it makes the hinge between the red opening and the dark base.

A base of smoked leather and guaiac

The smoked leather and the guaiac wood give the smoke, the vetiver and the cedarwood the woody dryness. The ambergris, the labdanum, the oakmoss and the gurjun balsam — an Indonesian resin with a burnt wood scent — close on a dark and very tenacious chypre accord.

Jild means the skin, or the leather, in Arabic: the name announces the destination.
