Parfumeur | Jordi Fernandez
Kashmir Print by OJAR is a powdery, musky floral eau de parfum for both men and women, created by Jordi Fernández. It contains no oud, incense, or resin—the three ingredients upon which the house was founded.
A house born from Dhofar incense
OJAR is an Omani house founded by Sheikha Hind Bahwan. Its name comes from HOJARI, the world’s most renowned grade of frankincense, harvested in the mountains of Dhofar. The founder summarizes her vision in a single sentence: “OJAR is a fusion of East and West—I have brought together the best craftsmanship from each region.” The catalog is organized into six collections based on ingredients, three of which come from Oman—Dhofar incense, Jebel Akhdar rose, and Rustaq honey—complemented by sandalwood, musk, and oud. The formulas are entrusted to perfumers from around the world: Dalia Izem, Gaël Montero, Jordi Fernández, Michel Girard, Nanako Ogi.
An opening of mandarin, freesia, and lily of the valley
A citrus fruit and two white flowers. The mandarin provides a sweet zest that brightens the fragrance, while the freesia adds a fresh, slightly peppery petal and the lily of the valley a crisp, watery greenness. The opening is clean and transparent.
A heart of iris root, rose, and pink pepper
The iris root brings its cool, earthy powderiness: it is the rhizome that is used, dried for several years before being processed, rather than the flower. The rose—one of the house’s six founding ingredients—holds the heart with its honeyed, full character. The pink pepper adds a sparkling fruitiness, the only spicy note in the formula.
A base of patchouli, white amber, and white musk
The patchouli provides the only earthy trace in the entire fragrance, while the white amber adds a soft, cottony warmth and the white musk a skin-like effect and longevity. The dry-down remains clear and close to the skin, never becoming heavy.
The house’s signature
In a house built on oud, incense, and resins, this fragrance uses none of these ingredients: nothing smoky, nothing sweet, nothing burnt. It retains only the Omani rose and musk, two of the six founding ingredients, and builds the rest on flowers and powder—in fact, the house places it in its Musk collection. It summarizes the effect with an image: a delicate scarf floating in the breeze. The title refers to printed cashmere shawls, whose pattern repeats without ever changing color—exactly like the fragrance’s progression.
For whom and for what occasions?
For those who love powdery iris and clean musks and are looking for a discreet fragrance that can be worn anywhere. It is an all-season fragrance, suitable for everything from the office to an evening out, with good longevity and a trail that stays very close to the skin. Kashmir Print OJAR is for those who want softness without warmth.
