Jouri Perfumes is an Emirati house, whose first reference dates back to 2017. Its particularity lies in a rare fact: Ali Abdulla Almarzooqi is not only the founder, he is the nose of all the creations. Where most houses commission their formulas from outside perfumers, each Jouri bottle bears the hand of a single person.

An opening of rose and date

The rose, the date and the orange blossom open together. The date brings a brown, candied, and slightly fermenting sugar, which thickens the flower instead of following it; the orange blossom, lighter and honeyed, prevents the whole from appearing heavy from the first minutes.

A heart of geranium and patchouli

The geranium extends the rose with its green and slightly mentholated facet, while the patchouli and the cedarwood establish the structure. The perfume leaves the fruit register for that of wood, without a break.

A base of sandalwood and amber

The sandalwood brings its milky creaminess, the amber the balsamic warmth and the musk the longevity. It is the typical Gulf base: dense, warm, very long, designed to last an entire night.

The house's gesture

The date is placed in front of the rose, right from the opening. It is a Gulf signature that Western perfumery almost never uses: the fruit of the date palm holds the role that elsewhere is played by the raspberry or the lychee, in much darker and more candied. The name also says it — Layal means the nights in Arabic, in the plural, and the perfume is built for that duration rather than for a starting flash.
