Parfumeur | Ramón Béjar
Luz Infinita by Ramón Béjar is a unisex musky amber woody extrait de parfum, created by Ramón Béjar himself. It belongs to the My Colourful Symphony collection, and its name means infinite light.
Granada and Barcelona, a cultural symphony
Ramón Béjar is a Spanish house based in Barcelona, whose founder is also the nose. It presents itself as a philosophy rather than a brand: bringing together the most sophisticated essences and plants on the planet in limited-edition, numbered fragrances. Its positioning can be summed up in one sentence — formed in the Arab-Andalusian heritage of Granada, nourished by the artistic spirit of Barcelona — and the house speaks of a cultural symphony, where Middle Eastern perfumery meets Western olfactory tastes. The catalog is divided into two collections: My Universe Privée, eight fragrances born from a childhood passion for the mystical; and My Colourful Symphony, four brighter and more dynamic compositions, including this one.
An opening of neroli, Paraguay petitgrain, Java vetiver, and Atlas cedar
Neroli — the flower of the bitter orange — and Paraguay petitgrain — its leaf and twigs — are two extracts from the same tree, placed side by side. Java vetiver, smokier than that of Haiti, and Atlas cedar already announce the wood. The opening is clear without being fresh.
A heart of Mysore sandalwood, geranium, patchouli, and cashmeran
Mysore sandalwood brings its creaminess, geranium a green and rosy facet, patchouli its camphorous earthiness. Cashmeran adds a powdery, musky woodiness that binds the whole together and gives it its softness.
A base of Peruvian resinoid balsam, labdanum absolute, and musk ketone
Peruvian resinoid balsam brings a smoky, vanilla-like resin, labdanum absolute an amber and leathery warmth, and musk ketone a clean musk that extends the trail. The base is warm, dry, and lasts a very long time.
The house's approach
The fragrance comes from an olfactory memory that the perfumer himself recounts: during a pilgrimage, he was deeply moved by the scent of the drapery — the Al-Kiswa — that covers a sacred temple. He derived a composition from it that seeks, he says, clarity and purity rather than power. The house summarizes the intention in one sentence: the strongest light is the one that comes from within. In terms of the formula, this translates into a precise choice — two extracts from the same bitter orange, the flower and the leaf, used together from the opening to illuminate an entirely woody and resinous base.
For whom, for what occasions?
For those who love warm woody fragrances and are looking for an enveloping perfume without sweetness or gourmand notes. It is an all-season fragrance, wearable from day to night, with very long-lasting wear and a wide trail — one spray is enough. Luz Infinita Ramón Béjar will appeal to those who want light in a woody fragrance.
