The perfumer takes center stage

Essential Parfums is a Parisian house founded in 2018 by Géraldine Archambault, which overturns the usual logic: the perfumer's name is on the bottle, and the creation takes precedence over the packaging. Its approach can be summed up in one sentence: "simplicity as the ultimate luxury". For each nose, the house provides the same brief: create a unisex fragrance around an inspiring natural raw material, with complete creative freedom. Ten perfumers have responded, including Calice Becker, Anne Flipo, Olivier Pescheux, Nathalie Lorson, Quentin Bisch and Bruno Jovanovic. By limiting packaging and marketing expenses, the house reinvests in the raw materials: its formulas contain between 86 and 93% ingredients of natural origin and are vegan. Refillable 100 ml bottle.

An opening of Mexican lime, juniper and gin

The Mexican lime opens with a sharp, vibrant acidity, while the juniper adds its resinous berry. Together, they create a gin accord — the icy opening of a white spirit.

Lavender brings its aromatic freshness, while gentian — one of the bitterest roots there is — extends the austerity of the opening.

A base of Haitian vetiver, cashmere wood and patchouli

The house's signature

A GIN accord in the top notes, and GENTIAN in the heart. Gin — juniper and lime — provides the icy opening of a white spirit; gentian, one of the bitterest roots there is, extends this austerity. Two materials that prevent vetiver from becoming the dated woody fragrance it has long been. And the pairing is logical: gentian and vetiver are both roots, one bitter, the other earthy — the fragrance is built underground from start to finish.
