Montri by Dusita is a niche woody, spicy, and powdery unisex eau de parfum, created by Pissara Umavijani. It is the only creation from the house to bear the poet's own name.

A house born from poetry

Parfums Dusita is an award-winning independent Parisian haute parfumerie, founded in 2016 by Pissara "Ploi" Umavijani, a self-taught perfumer born in Bangkok who arrived in Paris in 2011. Each fragrance is an olfactory tribute to the poetry of her father, Montri Umavijani (1941-2006), a renowned Thai poet. Dusita is the name of the celestial paradise spoken of in his verses, and whose quest runs through the entire collection. Pissara draws an illustration for each creation herself, capturing its spirit as much as that of the poem. The juices are composed near Grasse from largely natural ingredients, and are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. 50 ml bottle.

An opening of spices, petitgrain, and dried fruits

A blend of spices opens the composition, warm and complex. The petitgrain brings its bitter greenness, while a dried fruit accord adds a candied, woody sweetness.

A heart of iris butter, two roses, and leather

The iris butter establishes its cool, fatty powderiness. The May rose and the Damask rose call to each other—one fresh and honeyed, the other spicier—before a leather accord gives the whole a firmer edge.

A base of Oud Palao, patchouli, and vetiver

The Oud Palao establishes its woody, resinous depth, patchouli its dark earthiness, and vetiver its root. The trail is deep and very long-lasting.

The house's signature

This is not a composition, it is a portrait—and the perfumer holds the key. Pissara Umavijani explains that she created Montri with "notes that represent his character, plus scents he loved." Each layer can therefore be read literally: woods for strength, iris because he loved it, and spices inspired by his travels to Nepal and India. Added to this is Oud Palao, a Thai variety of agarwood that Western perfumery rarely uses—the homeland, at the heart of the bottle. The entire house pays tribute to his poems; this particular fragrance is dedicated to the man.
