Parfumeur | Isabelle Ferrand
Moroccan Iris by Lorga Parfums is a powdery fruity woody perfume extract, unisex, created by Isabelle Ferrand. Only six ingredients, and a local cherry at the opening.
Les Nobles Nectars
Lorga Parfums Paris is a French haute parfumerie house, made in France, whose first creations date back to 2019. It is a family story: its founders grew up “surrounded by scents blending nature, aromas, and incense.” Its collection is called Les Nobles Nectars, and the title is not merely decorative: almost every perfume bears the name of a noble ingredient.
A bottle that tells the story of perfumery
The bottle is crystalline, with lines as sleek as a prism. Its cap is inspired by the perfume organ—the arena-shaped cabinet in front of which the perfumer works—and its depth is adorned with a Bombyx mori, the moth whose sense of smell allows it to detect the female from a distance. The house explains this choice: “the love story of this magnificent insect has fascinated us so much.”
An opening of Séfrou cherry
The Séfrou cherry opens the composition alone. Séfrou is a city in the Moroccan Middle Atlas, known for its cherry trees and its annual cherry festival: this is not a generic cherry, but a fruit named after its terroir.
A heart of jasmine and violet
Jasmine and violet hold the heart together—the fleshy white flower and the powdery flower. Two ingredients, and they are already preparing the iris.
A base of iris butter, cinnamon, and cedar
Iris butter closes the composition—one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery, obtained after several years of drying the rhizome. Cinnamon brings the spice, cedar the dry wood.
The house's signature
A fruit named after its city, and the iris relegated to the base. Writing Séfrou cherry rather than “cherry” follows the same logic as a cru: the city, in the Middle Atlas, is famous for its cherry trees. And the iris, which gives the perfume its name, only appears in the final position—you have to travel through the entire journey to reach it. The composition is signed by Isabelle Ferrand, director of Cinquième Sens, one of the most renowned perfume schools. The house summarizes: “when iris meets cherry under the fullness of the Atlas palm groves.”
