Parfumeur | Ramón Béjar
Mystic Nard by Ramón Béjar is a floral musky amber perfume extract, unisex, composed by Ramón Béjar himself. It belongs to the My Universe Privée collection and comes in a limited and numbered edition.
Granada and Barcelona, a cultural symphony
Ramón Béjar is a Spanish house based in Barcelona, whose founder is also the nose. It presents itself as a philosophy rather than a brand: bringing together the most sophisticated essences and plants on the planet in limited and numbered edition fragrances. Its positioning can be summed up in one sentence — formed in the Arab-Andalusian heritage of Granada, nourished by the artistic spirit of Barcelona — and the house speaks of a cultural symphony, where Middle Eastern perfumery meets Western olfactory tastes. The catalog is divided into two collections: My Universe Privée, eight perfumes born from a childhood passion for the mystical, which range from the deserts of Arabia to the waters of North Africa, from the rose gardens of Barcelona to the jungles of Vietnam and Colombia; and My Colourful Symphony, four lighter and more dynamic compositions.
An opening of magnolia, vanilla and tuberose flowers
Magnolia opens with a lemony and creamy white floral, vanilla establishes its sweetness from the start, and tuberose flowers set the material that will govern everything — fleshy, green and narcotic at the same time.
A heart of white musk and lily of the valley
White musk brings a clean and cottony skin effect, lily of the valley a green and watery transparency. This passage is deliberately discreet: it serves as a breath between the two tuberose moments.
A base of tuberose absolute and Sumatran benzoin
Tuberose absolute returns, this time in its most concentrated and expensive form, and Sumatran benzoin envelops it in a vanilla and slightly smoky resin. The sillage is ample and the longevity long, as required by an extract.
The house's gesture
The title is not an image: the house specifies that nard is also called tuberose — it is the same material, and it is therefore the subject of the perfume. It also recalls what this material was worth in Antiquity: its price was once equivalent to a year's salary. This explains the construction, where tuberose is used twice: the flower in the head, the absolute in the base. Seven materials in total, and the most expensive one returns twice.
For whom, for what occasions?
For those who love noble white flowers and are looking for a tuberose treated as a precious material rather than in a bouquet. It is an all-season perfume, wearable from day to night, with a very long longevity and an ample sillage — one spray is enough. Mystic Nard Ramón Béjar will appeal to those who want a serious white flower.
