Elixirs conceived as materials

NÛR is a French artisanal haute parfumerie house that has made its name with its alcohol-free elixirs: ultra-concentrated oils presented in 3 ml, conceived as materials rather than compositions — deep vanillas, milky sandalwood, resinous ambers, vibrant roses, musks, dark ouds. The name of an elixir announces its material, and often its origin. Its co-founder Jean-Bernard Albani, a self-taught nose, indicates shaping each maceration by hand. The extracts extend the collection: same olfactory facets, but an alcohol base that gives superior projection, a denser and longer sillage.

The materials

The composition is based on vanilla planifolia, the most sought-after species in perfumery, worked here in the form of a natural tincture. We find the balsamic depth of the whole pod, far from the vanilla-sugar accord to which the material is often reduced.

It is enhanced by a natural vanillin from cloves. This unusual origin brings a spicy edge and a slightly smoky facet that structures the vanilla and prevents it from becoming pastry-like. Two materials, and nothing else to blur the message.

The house's gesture

This extract was born from the Vanille Rousse elixir from the Lumière range, which we also distribute in 3 ml, and which it takes the facets of by giving them the reach of alcohol. And NÛR does not buy its tincture: it creates it itself, through a three-month maceration of vanilla planifolia. It is this long time that gives the juice its density, and makes this vanilla a material unique to the house.
