A perfumer with a background in art history

Francesca Bianchi is a self-taught Italian perfumer. After graduating in art history in Florence, she worked in art book publishing before founding her house in Amsterdam in 2016, inspired by a book on natural perfumery. She creates every formula by hand in her laboratory — a process that can take from six months to four years, and sometimes even longer — before entrusting production to a small Italian artisanal company. The house operates without investors or a marketing plan. Her perfumes are known as “Liquid Emotions,” and her motto can be summed up in three words: “Everything is personal.”

This is a house whose fragrances must be tried on the skin. Her compositions are based on animal materials — costus, castoreum, civet — which vary considerably from person to person, and on bold choices that are sure to provoke a reaction: cumin in the top notes, narcissus as the main theme, and civet beneath a beach fragrance. The set also allows you to compare Sex and the Sea and its Neroli version side by side, which share the same base and differ only in their top notes.
