The Maiora Parfum discovery set brings together eight perfume extracts in 2 ml bottles, all created by Antonio Gigli, the house's sole perfumer.

Naples, and Southern Italy

Maiora Parfum is an Italian house based in Casalnuovo di Napoli, on the outskirts of Naples. Its name comes from the Latin maior, meaning "greater". A single nose creates the entire catalogue: Antonio Gigli, who began as a child blending essential oils with his father, and who introduced the house to Esxence, the Milanese trade show for niche perfumery. The compositions draw on the herbs, flowers, fruits and roots of Southern Italy.

What the set contains

Eight extracts, or 16 ml of perfume. The extract concentration provides long-lasting wear: a 2 ml bottle is enough to judge a composition over several days, on both the skin and clothing.

The house's signature

Maiora names recipes, not landscapes. The pastiera — the Neapolitan Easter cake made with ricotta and cooked wheat — and amaro — the bitter liqueur drunk as a digestif throughout Italy — are listed just like that in the fragrance pyramids, as ingredients in their own right. This is what sets the house apart, and it is what a 2 ml format allows you to discover before committing to a full bottle.
