An artist, and a different perfumer each time

Sarah Baker is a multidisciplinary artist—film, photography, installation—and the founder of the house, based in an East London studio. Her work explores “themes of luxury, identity and desire,” and each fragrance is accompanied by a mini-scenario written by her. Her method can be summed up in one sentence: “Working with some of the most talented noses in the business, we collaborate on our fragrances rather than dictating.” And her motto: “We simply don’t do supporting roles.”

Six perfumers for a single house

This is what makes this collection unique in our catalog: Sarah McCartney, Andreas Wilhelm, Ashley Eden Kessler, Chris Maurice, Miguel Matos and Margaux Le Paih-Guérin each created their own fragrances—and Sarah Baker composed one herself. A set from this house is therefore not an exploration of a single style, but a meeting of several distinct creative voices.

The scope of the selection

The range is vast: ambergris and seashells, creamy tuberose and leather, three types of cedar and bread, castoreum and beeswax, natural Laotian oud and dark chocolate, motor oil and mezcal, peach and milk, bourbon and black olive. Few houses cover such a wide range.

The house’s signature approach

Four of the house’s fragrances—Leopard, Greek Keys, Tartan and Lace—were born from the same idea: translating luxury fabric patterns into scents. They were exhibited together at the Institute for Art and Olfaction in Los Angeles in April 2017. This is the best possible introduction to a house that treats fragrance as an artistic medium.

Who is it for?

For those who want to discover an entire house rather than a single fragrance, and for gifting without the risk of choosing the wrong one. The house does not test any products on animals and formulates in compliance with IFRA standards.
