Les Nobles Nectars

Lorga Parfums Paris is a French haute parfumerie house, made in France, whose first creations date back to 2019. It is a family story: its founders grew up “surrounded by scents blending nature, aromas, and incense.” Five perfumers created the collection: Sarah Burri, Alice Dattée, Camille Leguay, Isabelle Ferrand — director of Cinquième Sens — and Veronika Csatlovszky.

A bottle that tells the story of perfumery

The bottle is crystalline, with lines as clean as a prism. Its cap is inspired by the organ of perfumes — the arena-shaped cabinet in front of which the perfumer works — and its base is adorned with a bombyx mori, the moth whose sense of smell allows it to detect the female from a distance. The house explains this choice: “the love story of this magnificent insect has fascinated us so much.”

What the set contains

Eight extraits, or 16 ml of perfume in total. Each bottle allows for several days of wear — enough to judge a composition on the skin, which a blotter can never do.

Why start here

These are short formulas, and that is the whole point. Six to nine ingredients per perfume, where many houses use thirty — but two or three absolutes in each. The absolute is the most concentrated and expensive extraction of an ingredient: rose, jasmine, tuberose, tobacco, immortelle, labdanum, tonka bean. The house names them as such, and also specifies their origins — Sefrou cherry, Laos oud, Indian sandalwood, iris butter. This is a collection judged by the quality of the extraction, not by the number of notes, and that can only be verified on the skin.
