A house that makes its own materials

Les Indémodables was born in 2016 from the meeting of Valérie and Rémi Pulvérail. She was a beauty retailer and wanted to offer her customers an olfactory wardrobe; he had spent twenty years sourcing ingredients at Givaudan before founding his own laboratory, L'Atelier Français des Matières. That is where it all happens: the house does not order its raw materials, it extracts them itself. Some of its extracts are exclusive and cannot be found anywhere else — therefore impossible to copy. Antoine Lie is the creative director, alongside Florence Fouillet Dubois.

What the set contains

Fourteen 3 ml spray bottles, or 42 ml of perfume, presented in a black magnetic case. The format allows you to wear each fragrance for several days in a row, on the skin — something a sample strip will never tell you.

Why start there

The house takes the great classic families of French perfumery — chypre, fougère, ambergris, vanilla, iris — and rewrites them with grand cru materials and bold overdoses. It is a collection that is judged as a whole: each fragrance corresponds to a family, and the writing can only be understood by comparing them to each other. A chypre without oakmoss, a musk without musk, a fougère that ends on tuberose: the departure from the rule is only noticeable if you know the rule.

For anyone who wants to discover an entire house rather than a single perfume, and to give a gift without the risk of making a mistake. It is also the least expensive way to approach a collection whose large formats are among the most expensive in our selection.
