The Rosendo Mateu discovery set brings together seven eau de parfums in 2 ml bottles, totaling 14 ml: numbers N°1 to N°7 from the main collection, all composed by the Master Perfumer himself.

Forty years at Puig before signing his own name

Rosendo Mateu entered the perfume industry in 1968 and spent forty years at the Spanish group Puig, composing for Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne, and Carolina Herrera. In 2010, after forty-five years dedicated to perfume, Puig awarded him the title of Master Perfumer—one of the few granted in Europe. In 2015, he founded the house that bears his name in Barcelona, together with his son Joan, and launched it with four fragrances. He passed away on May 12, 2022; Joan Mateu now runs the house.

The seven fragrances in the set

N°1 (floral citrus—bergamot, tea leaf, sandalwood), N°2 (woody leather—citrus, wood, suede), N°3 (powdery floral—neroli, iris, white musk), N°4 (spicy woody—saffron, oud, vanilla), N°5 (floral amber—floral, amber, sensual musk), N°6 (woody floral—jasmine, sandalwood, oriental musk), and N°7 (floral woody—patchouli, oud, vanilla).

What the selection covers

From the lightest to the darkest: citrus and green tea, suede and geranium, Italian iris and Damask rose, saffron and oud, carnation and amber, Indian sandalwood, Indonesian patchouli, and Madagascar vanilla. Seven numbers, seven distinct families—it is the only way to measure this breadth before choosing a bottle.

The house's signature

The main collection now includes ten numbers: this set covers the first seven, those that Rosendo Mateu composed when opening his house. All the house's fragrances are formulated at a 20% concentration and presented as unisex.
