Palais Royal by Stéphanie de Bruijn is an oriental spicy woody eau de parfum, unisex, created by Stéphanie de Bruijn. The house presents it as a chic and structured signature, resolutely Parisian, worn like an attitude.

The perfumer's story

Stéphanie de Bruijn publishes a signed text for each of her creations, which she calls "The Story". For Palais Royal: "Under the arcades of the Palais-Royal, I love the play of light and shadow. I composed incense and rose, then oud and sandalwood, for a sovereign and Parisian elegance."

An opening of incense and dry wood

The opening refuses any freshness: resinous incense and a dry woody accord, without the slightest citrus. The perfume gets straight to the point, which is rare.

A heart of rose essence

The heart is a single material: rose essence. It is the light spoken of by the perfumer, placed between two dark passages, and the only floral moment of the composition.

A base of oud, patchouli and sandalwood

The base brings together three materials: resinous oud, earthy patchouli and creamy sandalwood. Six materials in total: Palais Royal is the house's most stripped-down composition, and all its weight is in the finish.

The house's gesture

Palais Royal bears, like Le Sully and Le Musset, a Parisian name — the house is located on rue de l'Université, in the 7th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the Musée d'Orsay. Stéphanie de Bruijn receives her clients there one by one and also composes custom perfumes there.
