An Omani house that calls upon master perfumers

Oman Luxury is an independent house founded in 2012 by Muatasim, Muadh and Ahmed, then relaunched in October 2020 with a new identity. Its approach is twofold: draw from Omani heritage — the incense route, spices, agarwood — and entrust the formulas to leading French perfumers, among whom Dominique Ropion, Marie Salamagne, Pierre Negrin, Maurice Roucel or Emilie Coppermann. One of the three founders, Muatasim Al Hinai, composes two of the fragrances in the collection himself. The bottles incorporate motifs from Omani architecture and textiles.

An opening of raspberry, saffron and grapefruit

The raspberry opens tart and velvety, very present from the first spray. The saffron brings its leathery facet, which already hints at the base, while the grapefruit and bergamot provide a zesty bitterness that prevents the fruit from turning candy-like.

A heart of rose, jasmine, lily and cinnamon

The rose holds center stage — the house describes it as red —, the jasmine adds its full whiteness and the lily its powdery, slightly peppery whiteness. The cinnamon warms them with a sweet spice and makes the transition to the caramel in the base.

A base of leather, caramel, moss and amber

Ten ingredients. The leather and the caramel stand face to face — tanned skin against cooked sugar — with amber, patchouli, moss, tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood, cedar and musk to hold the whole together. Moss is the only green note in the entire formula.

The house's signature touch

Leather and caramel in the same base is not common: one is dry and tannic, the other rich and sweet, and they pull the formula in two opposite directions. The opening raspberry serves as a bridge between the two — tart enough to match the leather, jammy enough to announce the caramel. The house describes the fragrance as a leathery rose with candied fruity accords, where smoky leather meets caramelized, vanilla and amber.
