Peach's Revenge by Sarah Baker is a gourmand spicy fruity extrait de parfum, unisex, created by Chris Maurice. "Juicy, spicy, sultry": the three words of the house.

A peach for power plays

Sarah Baker is a multidisciplinary artist — film, photography, installation — and the founder of the house, based in an East London studio. She entrusts each fragrance to a different nose and accompanies each with a mini-scenario written by her. For this one, a phrase: "A deliciously juicy peach for Renaissance power plays." Peach's Revenge opens an entire trilogy that the house has built around the peach, signed by the same perfumer.

An opening of peach, guava, nectarine and amaretto

The peach, the guava and the nectarine "surprise and disconcert", says the house. Then amaretto arrives: "an exhilarating amaretto purrs, half sweet, half dangerous". It is this almond liqueur that gives the fruit its ulterior motive.

A heart of iris, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon and bark

The iris lays its cold powder in the middle of the spices. The cardamom, the ginger and the cinnamon form what the house calls "a handful of warming spices", and the bark — dry, tannic, almost woody — prevents them from turning into mulled wine.

A base of amber, vanilla, caramel and musks

The amber and the vanilla "offer a deep and exhilarating finale", softened by a caramel. The musks, which the house describes as "sensual, warm skin", prolong the whole close to the body.

The house's touch

Iris is the key to the formula. A cold, powdery and root-like material, it has no business being in a gourmand fruity — and that is precisely what makes it wearable. Without it, the peach, the amaretto and the caramel would form a dessert; with it, they form a fragrance.
