Rococo Pie by Sarah Baker is a gourmand lacto-fruity extrait de parfum, unisex, created by Chris Maurice. “Mysterious, filigree, tart”: the three words of the house.

A Venetian secret

Sarah Baker is a multidisciplinary artist — film, photography, installation — and the founder of the house, based in an East London studio. She entrusts each fragrance to a different nose and accompanies each with a mini-scenario. For this one: “Spiced peaches and cream are the secrets you can keep, simple as a tart.” Rococo Pie closes the peach trilogy, with Peach's Revenge and Pastel Rumours — three fragrances by the same perfumer, centered around the same fruit.

The peach tart is a note in its own right, not an image: cooked fruit, pastry, butter. The mandarin zest illuminates it with a bright acidity, the coconut brings a “husky” roundness, according to the house’s word.

A heart of nut, jasmine and lactonic notes

The nut “sprinkles the surface,” writes the house. The lactonic notes form “a cloud of cream that slowly melts into the pastry.” And the jasmine arrives where you don’t expect it: it is what brings “a surprisingly sophisticated dimension.”

A base of amber, sandalwood and musk

Three materials, not one more. The amber warms, the sandalwood brings its woody creaminess, the musk envelops it. “A sumptuous base of amber and musks gives luxurious trails,” says the house.

The house’s touch

Jasmine is the anomaly of the formula, and it is intentional. An indolic white flower in the middle of a pastry, that is what prevents Rococo Pie from smelling like a bakery: it does not tell the story of a dessert, it tells the story of the room where the dessert was eaten the day before.
