Cherry Punk Extrait de Parfum by ROOM 1015 is a fruity floral leather extrait, unisex, created by Jérôme Epinette. The eau de parfum formula taken to a higher concentration: same pyramid, denser leather, longer sillage.

Punk needed its fragrance

At 430 King's Road, in London, in the Vivienne Westwood boutique called SEX: that's where it all began, the house tells us. Worn denim, hand-painted leather, latex, tartans, prints that would make your parents blush. "Did punk invent fashion, or did fashion invent punk?" The movement had its clubs, its press, its films and its poetry: it was missing its fragrance. ROOM 1015 — founded in Paris in 2015 by Michael Partouche, a pharmacist who became a rock guitarist — gave it one in 2020, then released this extrait version in 2023.

An opening of cherry, saffron and black pepper

The cherry is denser and more candied than in the eau de parfum, almost syrupy from the very first second. The saffron cuts through with a leathery and medicinal streak that is warmer than spicy here, and the black pepper brings a dry spiciness. Where the original pops, the extrait settles in.

A heart of jasmine, violet and mimosa

The jasmine takes center stage: its white and indolent flesh gains opacity. The violet powders it with a slightly metallic sweetness, while the mimosa adds its honey. The bouquet envelops instead of accompanying, and delays the transition to the base. This is the part that benefits most from the concentration.

A base of leather, patchouli and tonka bean

The leather is the raison d'être of this version: more present, more patinated, frankly dark. The patchouli anchors it in damp, camphorous earth, while the tonka bean softens it with a note of almond and cut hay. The sillage remains close to the skin but does not fade throughout the day.

The house's approach

The two versions share exactly the same pyramid, ingredient for ingredient. The difference lies in the formulation: the eau de parfum contains water, the extrait does not. It is this absence, and not a change in ingredients, that gives the base its density and the sillage its longevity.
