“Boy by day, girl by night”

ROOM 1015 was founded in Paris in 2015 by Michael Partouche, known as “Dr. Mike”: a doctor of pharmacy and rock guitarist, he left the pharmacy for perfume. The house, located on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, takes its name from room 1015 of the Continental Hyatt House on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles—the hotel nicknamed the “Riot House.” Jasmine Freak, released in 2025, is presented as a dive into “the transgressive art of self-expression,” where fashion, music, cinema, literature, and perfume intersect to celebrate freedom. “Boy by day, girl by night,” the house summarizes, before concluding: “Come as you are.”

An opening of mango, orange, black pepper, and blackcurrant

The mango arrives fleshy and sweet, almost edible. The orange brightens it with a juicy zest, the black pepper pricks it with a dry spiciness, and the blackcurrant adds a green, budding acidity. Four ingredients to keep the fruit from turning into syrup.

A heart of jasmine, ylang-ylang, and tuberose

The jasmine gives the name and the direction: ample, indolic, a little animalic. The ylang-ylang thickens it with a creamy and slightly banana-like facet. The tuberose adds its white, narcotic, and waxy flesh. It is a floral of abundance rather than delicacy, and it embraces its excess.

A base of musk and cashmere wood

The musk envelops the bouquet and brings it closer to the skin. The cashmere wood gives it a dry and silky texture, barely woody, almost cottony. Two ingredients that seek to tell nothing other than the flower.

The house’s approach

The pyramid narrows instead of widening: four ingredients in the top, three in the heart, two in the base. The perfume therefore never shifts toward an independent base accord—it remains the opening bouquet, simply rendered closer and softer. The house also announces an “extravagant” sillage: here, nothing is hidden.
