FUGAZZI is a Dutch house from Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Bram Niessink, whose imagination was sparked during a trip to Egypt with his grandfather. The name comes from fugazi, an Italian-American slang word from the 1970s meaning "fake", adopted by youth culture and movie mobsters: writing it with a double Z makes it a fake word that means fake. The house calls its approach "Storysmelling". Each formula also contains two patented odorless plant ingredients, whose combination aims to reduce feelings of nervousness and tension. The Extrait line boasts 30 to 50% perfume oil, compared to 20% for eaux de parfum.
