Solar Flair by OJAR is a gourmand floral musk eau de parfum, unisex, created by Santosh Shinde and Gaël Montero working together. It places heliotrope in the top notes, where this powdery material is usually found at the very bottom.

A house born from Dhofar frankincense

OJAR is an Omani house founded by Sheikha Hind Bahwan. The name comes from HOJARI, the most renowned quality of frankincense in the world, harvested in the mountains of Dhofar. The founder summarizes her project in one sentence: “OJAR is a fusion of East and West — I have brought together the best know-how from each region”. The catalog is organized into six collections by material, three of which come from Oman — Dhofar frankincense, Jebel Akhdar rose and Rustaq honey — complemented by sandalwood, musk and oud. The formulas are entrusted to perfumers from around the world: Dalia Izem, Gaël Montero, Jordi Fernández, Michel Girard, Nanako Ogi.

An opening of mandarin, pink pepper and heliotrope

Mandarin gives the sweet sparkle of zest, pink pepper a sparkling and slightly resinous fruitiness. Heliotrope arrives immediately after with its almond and vanilla powder: the perfume is cozy from the first minute instead of becoming so as it dries down.

A heart of honeysuckle, osmanthus and patchouli

Two sun-loving flowers call to each other. Honeysuckle brings its green honey and nectar-like side, osmanthus — the Chinese tea flower — its apricot and leather facet, the most recognizable of the formula. Patchouli places the earth beneath these two flowers and prevents them from floating.

A base of honey, vetiver, vanilla and white musk

Honey — one of the house's six founding materials — takes up the honeysuckle nectar and thickens it. Vetiver slips a dry root beneath the sugar and prevents it from settling, vanilla rounds it out, white musk establishes the skin effect and longevity. The finish is clean and luminous, very close to the body.

The house's signature

Heliotrope is a base material: powdery, heavy, usually reserved for the end. Placing it at the top, against a mandarin, is like giving the perfume its texture before giving it its sparkle. The result is a trajectory that does not unfold: the perfume looks from the start like what it will be three hours later, only denser. It is one of the two four-handed compositions we distribute from this house, along with Musk Colada.
