Tropikalys Karma by Lorenzo Pazzaglia is a fruity gourmand woody perfume extract, unisex, created by Lorenzo Pazzaglia. Soursop, mangosteen, starfruit, pitaya: fruits almost unheard of in perfumery.

A chef turned perfumer

Lorenzo Pazzaglia is an Italian house born in Cagli, a village in the heart of the Marches. This is where its founder grew up, surrounded by the aromas of his father's restaurant — "I grew up surrounded by the smells of my father's kitchen," he says — before working there himself as a chef. He remained one: in the kitchen by day, in the laboratory by night. Self-taught, he composes the entire catalog himself, 100% perfume extract, with a very high concentration of oils.

An opening of soursop, mangosteen, and starfruit

Coconut, papaya, grapefruit, pineapple, and apple establish the familiar fruit. Then come starfruit, soursop, and mangosteen — three fruits found in practically no other perfume.

A heart of flambéed peach, banana, and yellow pitaya

Flambéed peach — the fruit passed through alcohol and fire, not the raw fruit — holds the heart with banana, yellow pitaya, blackberry, lychee, and yellow melon. The mango smoothie accord, the milk accord, violet, and geranium complete it.

A base of plantain and olibanum

Plantain — the starchy, unsweetened cooking banana — closes the composition with amber woods, olibanum, patchouli, myrrh, musk, and musk vanilla.

The house's signature touch

Banana appears twice, and it's not the same. The banana in the heart is the fruit you peel; the plantain in the base is the one you fry, starchy and unsweetened. It is the house's signature, also found in the coconut of Summer Hammer and the coffee of Coffeee Passion. The same logic applies to the other fruits: the peach is flambéed, the mango arrives as a smoothie. None of these words belong to the vocabulary of perfumery — they all belong to the vocabulary of cooking.
