Turath by Spirit of Dubai is a unisex spicy oriental woody eau de parfum. The house describes it as the essence of bergamot, Damask rose, jasmine and vanilla, blended with the earthy notes of patchouli and leather, enhanced with ambergris and smoky notes. Turath means heritage.

Forty-seven ingredients

Turath is the second richest composition from the first generation, after Bahar. The name is fitting: a fragrance that purports to carry a country's heritage could not be contained in ten ingredients.

An opening of fruit, spices and coffee

The opening brings together apple, pineapple, strawberry, peach, coconut and blackcurrant, followed by pink pepper, Nepalese pepper, bergamot, cumin, cinnamon, sweet orange, Damask rose and cardamom — and above all coffee, dried fruits and candied fruits, which are the very hallmarks of Arabian hospitality.

The heart descends into the woods: oud, cedar, sandalwood, smoky cypriol and amyris, a Haitian wood with a sandalwood scent, surrounded by four flowers and saffron.

A base of seventeen ingredients, from Peru balsam to civet

The base brings together patchouli, three woods, vetiver, Tolu balsam and Peru balsam, leather, smoky notes, labdanum, incense, civet, white musk, ambergris, vanilla, mosses and oakmoss. The trail becomes dark, animalic and very long-lasting.

The house's signature

The Spirit of Dubai is published by Nabeel Perfumes, and its first collection dates back to 2015. Its master perfumer, Asghar Adam Ali, founded Nabeel at sixteen and also creates Shumukh, which holds the Guinness World Record for the most expensive perfume in the world.
