Tyger Tyger by Francesca Bianchi is a niche chypre, fruity and woody perfume extract, unisex. A peach jam laid over oakmoss and oud.

A perfumer from art history

Francesca Bianchi is a self-taught Italian perfumer. Graduated in art history in Florence, she worked in art book publishing before founding her house in Amsterdam in 2016, after reading a book on natural perfumery. She composes each formula by hand in her laboratory — a process that can take from six months to four years, sometimes longer — before entrusting production to a small Italian artisanal company. The house operates without investors or a marketing plan. Her perfumes are nicknamed “Liquid Emotions”. The title comes from the poem The Tyger by William Blake, which questions the beauty and terror of the same creature.

An opening of peach jam and honey

The peach jam opens on a cooked, thick, almost sticky fruit — nothing like a fresh peach. The honey accompanies it and pushes the density even further. An opening without any freshness.

A heart of narcotic flowers and heliotropin

The narcotic flowers take over, heady and intoxicating. The heliotropin is named in full: this molecule with the scent of almond and powdery vanilla softens the bouquet and links it to the fruit of the opening.

A base of oakmoss and oud

The oakmoss brings the forest dampness of the great chypre perfumes, the patchouli the earth, the oud the smoke and the leather the animalism. The sandalwood rounds it all off. The base is significantly darker than the head led one to expect.

The house's signature

A peach jam laid over oakmoss and oud. The candied fruit belongs to the gourmand register, the oakmoss to the classic chypre, the oud to oriental perfumery: three worlds that never cross. Layering them produces exactly the duality described by Blake's poem — something very beautiful and frankly unsettling in the same bottle.
